Jamie Maynard - Manager of Operations and Communications
California native Jamie Maynard joined TRG Motorsports in January as Manager of Operations and Communications. The 27-year-old from Northern California has an extensive background in NASCAR management, public relations, and sponsorship acquisition, including nearly five years of service in the NASCAR Nationwide Series.
Before joining TRG Motorsports, Ms. Maynard served as Director of Media Relations at Integrity Sports Marketing, LLC and Director of Operations and Communications at Biagi Bros. Racing. “We looked long and hard to fill this key position for our all-star team and Jamie was perfect,” said Team Owner, Kevin Buckler. “She’s seen many sides of this NASCAR model and will bring a wealth of experience, a really strong work ethic and excellent organizational skills to our team. I am proud to have Jamie on board with us.” Ms. Maynard is responsible for the daily accounting functions for TRG Motorsports and will oversee logistics and team communications. In addition, Ms. Maynard will travel with the team to handle at-track publicity. “I’m really excited to be part of TRG Motorsports,” said Ms. Maynard. “TRG has been successful in sports car racing since 1993, and they know how to build a program and make it successful. From the first day I met with Kevin, there was no doubt in my mind that I had to be part of this program. Kevin has an energy that is magnetic and the determination to win that I really haven’t seen in a long time. TRG Motorsports has all the pieces in place to be as competative in NASCAR as they have been in the Rolex Sports Car Series over the years,” she continued. “I am just estatic that I’ve had the chance to join a team of this caliber. Kevin and his group have put together a team of hard working and dedicated people, and I couldn’t be happier to join the team!”
Ms. Maynard is a 2000 graduate of Empire College and holds an Associate’s Degree in Accounting. |

Butch Hylton - Chief, No. 7 TRG Motorsports Chevrolet
Butch Hylton is one of the most highly regarded men in the NASCAR garage so it’s no surprise that Kevin Buckler signed him to Crew Chief the No. 7 Chevy Silverado in 2008. Hylton has over 15 years of motorsports experience, including 20 race wins as Crew Chief for various Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series teams and two NASCAR Championships. “Whenever you join a brand new team, there are a lot of challenges involved, but you also have the rare opportunity to start with a clean sheet of paper,” explained Hylton. “TRG’s reputation in other forms of racing is a great testament to their understanding of how to build a successful race team, and I think all of us together can bring a lot to the Truck Series.”
Hylton joined TRG Motorsports in December of 2007. “We met with a number of excellent candidates to take the helm as Crew Chief to the No. 7 truck, but it was clear in meetings with Butch that he had the range of experience, enthusiasm, and drive to go with it and really help to spearhead our new program, ” said Buckler. “Team chemistry is a big part of what we do and he and Andy seem to really hit it off. Our commitment to our sponsors and partners has always been to build a championship-caliber team, and we’re definitely making good on that with each new member we bring on. ” Marty Gaunt, General Manager, echoed Buckler’s opinion. “Part of the reason we chose Butch to join our team was because he simply shared the same enthusiasm as Kevin and I to start a brand-new program,” he said. “It’s important to all of us to assemble what we believe is an all-star group of people, from the shop floor to the driver’s seat. If we can achieve that objective, the results will come. ”
If Hylton’s resume is any indication of the success ahead for the TRG Motorsports team, it shouldn’t take the team long to find success. Hylton lead the Championship charge for a Sprint Cup team in 2000 and did the same for a Nationwide Series team just three years later. This season, Hylton looks to take TRG Motorsports to Victory Lane and lead the team in a strong charge toward the 2008 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Championship. |

Jason Miller - Chief, No. 71 TRG Motorsports Chevrolet
Jason Miller is serving his first year as crew chief in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with TRG Motorsports, heading the effort for the 2007 Whelen Modified Champion Donny Lia during his rookie run.
Despite it being Miller’s first bout as crew chief, he came to TRG Motorsports with a wealth of racing experience. Miller’s love for motorsports started out in his native Indiana. He filled his passion by owning and racing dirt Late Models for five seasons before getting a call about an opening with Andy Petree Racing in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. He packed his bags and headed south to North Carolina, serving as car chief and working on suspensions for the No. 33 entry driven by Paul Menard. After three years at APR, Miller moved to the Craftsman Truck Series with Bobby Hamilton Racing. There he served as general mechanic and rear tire changer. At the end of the 2007 racing season Miller filled in as crew chief for Terry Cook at HT Motorsports during the season-finale at the Homestead-Miami Speedway. The duo started the Ford 200 15th, finishing a steady 20th. “I’m excited about the opportunity to work with Donny. He’s a skilled driver and it will be exciting leading his rookie season in the Craftsman Truck Series. I’m excited about working with a NASCAR champion,” Miller said.
Miller will be working alongside veteran shot-caller Butch Hylton as he oversees teammate Andy Lally’s effort. “It’s great to be able to work with someone like Butch. It makes my transition to crew chief a lot easier knowing that I can just walk up to him and ask whatever it is I may want some advice with.”
Miller currently resides in Midland, N.C. with his wife Lora and son Andrew. |
