Adobe Road Winery to Sponsor TRG Motorsports No. 71 Chevrolet at Infineon
Petaluma, CA —
TRG Motorsports has signed Adobe Road Winery to sponsor the No. 71 TRG Motorsports Chevrolet Impala SS for this weekend's Toyota SaveMart 350 to be run at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California on Sunday, June 21.
Petaluma, California rooted Adobe Road Winery is one of the hottest boutique wineries in the industry right now. The winery has won numerous accolades for their wide range of varietals. Some of their most notable accomplishments include four of their wines receiving "Outstanding" 90+ point reviews in the prestigious Wine Spectator magazine, as well as numerous Gold Medal honors from wine competitions located around the country and taking the overall victory and sweepstakes award at this year's Sonoma Harvest Fair out of 1,100 wines entered.
"We have combined the efforts of our NASCAR Sprint Cup team and the marketing power that brings with a hot local winery to try and carry both businesses forward," Kevin Buckler, TRG Motorsports team principal said. "Both the team and the winery are making huge inroads in their respective arenas. Debra (Buckler) and I, as well as our partners on the NASCAR team, thought it would be a natural to combine efforts this weekend at Infineon Raceway, the gateway to Wine Country."
"It's the perfect time for our winery to partner up with another staple of Petaluma. What better place than in our backyard at Infineon Raceway," Dennis Youngquist, national sales manager for Adobe Road Winery said. "TRG Motorsports has done a great job this year of competing with the 'big boys,' and it's a perfect reflection of how our company operates. We've managed to build ourselves into one of the top wineries by being innovative and clever with our resources, and the 71 team has done the same. We look forward to rooting for David on Sunday."
Competing this weekend at one of only two road courses in the series, the Adobe Road Winery / Ultimate Limousine Service No. 71 Chevy looks to have a very competitive weekend. Beyond the team coming from strong road racing roots, including TRG Motorsports team principal, Kevin Buckler, winning his first professional race at the circuit in 1995, driver David Gilliland was second last year in the Sprint Cup race, and is looking to move up one spot in 2009.
"Last year's race was a really good one for us, and I think we're going to be really strong this weekend," Gilliland said. "I had my first taste of Adobe Road Wine back in March. I really enjoyed all the different varietals they had. This is a premium wine that is quickly gaining national acclaim, and I'm proud to have them on our car this weekend."
"We really look forward to using NASCAR as a platform as an added element of our marketing platform for Adobe Road," Youngquist continued. "We're bringing a lot of our clients and special guests to the track, and really using NASCAR and all it has to offer as a means to entertain as well as expose our brand to the rest of the world. We've worked with TRG at the associate level for several years now, and based on the success we've had from that participation, I'm really excited to see our return as a primary sponsor."
